What Sellstrom makes
We make the gear that sits between a hazard and your face. Face shields with the crowns, ratchet headgear and hard hat adapters that hold them. Replacement windows in clear, anti-fog and Shade 5 IR. Welding helmets, passive and auto-darkening, with the filter plates and cover lenses that go in them. Safety glasses and over-the-glass frames, goggles for dust, splash and heat. Emergency eyewash and drench units for the spot where a chemical can reach your eyes. Ear muffs and plugs, and the KneePro knee pads for work on hard floors.
Questions about a part go to shopfloor@sellstrom.co, and the Sellstrom desk answers them.
103 years, one way of buying
Sellstrom was founded in 1923. Over 103 years the range has been built on the same idea: the part you wear out is sold on its own and made to fit the gear you already own. A DP4 window fits a DP4 crown. A 4-1/2 x 5-1/4 in cover plate fits a helmet with that opening. A replacement lens fits the Odyssey II goggle body it was cut for.
That is why every product page here leads with the part number and the series. When you reorder, you can look up the number on the part in your hand and land on the same page.
Who the range is for
Welders and fabricators who change cover plates by the box. Machinists and grinders who wear a shield over their glasses. Lab and plant workers who handle chemicals and need goggles with indirect vents and a station within reach. Facility managers who keep the eyewash checked and the spare windows on the shelf. And anyone at home who mows, cuts tile, mixes concrete or kneels to lay a floor.
What the figures on a Sellstrom part mean
Shade, tint, material, coating, size and standard are given for a part only where our product data for that part names them. A window with no stated material shows no material, and a goggle that does not name a standard shows no standard chip. Prices are the figures from our last catalog update, and the one at checkout is the one you pay.
What protection a job needs is set by the hazard, not by us. Our eye and face protection guide, welding shade guide and eyewash guide quote OSHA, NIOSH and ISEA directly, with links to the pages we read.
