Soft PVC goggle with Shade 5 IR plates

Torch work at a cutting table needs eye cover that seals and still breathes. This goggle body is soft, flexible green PVC that wraps around your eyes and sits snug against your face, with indirect vents at the top and bottom to move air while keeping out liquids, dust and flying bits. It holds 2 by 4-1/4 inch plates, and it comes with two Shade 5 IR lenses already in place.

Shade 5 suits gas welding, brazing, oxygen cutting and glare from a torch, and it is too light for electric arc welding of any kind. Because the frame takes standard size plates, you can swap in a clear cover plate, an impact plate or a magnifier plate when your eyes need help at close range. The goggle is marked to ANSI Z87.1 and CSA Z94.3, part S85450.

Before you start

IR tinted windows, visors and lenses are for torch work: brazing, gas welding and oxygen cutting. They are not a filter for an electric arc, where the OSHA table starts at Shade 7.
