Threaded fill cap for the 16 gallon eyewash tank

A tank of flushing water is only ready if it stays clean, and the cap on the fill spout is what keeps dust, insects and shop grime out between inspections. This plastic replacement cap threads onto the fill spout of our 16 gallon Gravity-Flow portable eyewash station and seals it. It measures 4 inches by 3/4 inch.

Replace it when the old cap cracks, goes missing on a job site, or no longer seals the spout snugly. You unscrew the worn cap, look the threads over for grit, and turn the new one down by hand until it seats. Keep a spare in your eyewash kit, because a station with an open spout should be drained, cleaned and refilled before anyone relies on it again.

Before you start

The national standard asks for a 15-minute flush from a station no more than 10 seconds away. Check a station on the schedule its manual gives, and keep the cover on between uses.
