Blue NRR 25 muffs for shop and range

A chop saw, a leaf blower or a morning at the range adds up faster than most people think. These muffs are labeled NRR 25 under ANSI S3.19, and the soft blue cups close fully around each ear so the seal sits on your head rather than in your ear canal. The design is dielectric, which suits work around electrical gear.

Adjust the tension band until the cups sit centered over your ears with no gap at the bottom, then push hair and the arms of your glasses aside so the cushions seal. For very loud work you can wear them over foam plugs, such as our uncorded plugs labeled 32 dB. Your real reduction depends on fit, so take the time to seat them each time you put them on.

Before you start

The NRR on the package is a lab figure. NIOSH found most workers get less than half of it, so fit decides: a plug rolled and inserted deep, a muff sealed all the way around.
