Five passive ear muffs, from 24 to 28 NRR
Muffs are the hearing protection you can pull on with dirty gloves and lift off when someone needs to talk. Every muff in this group is passive, so there are no batteries, and the cups swivel on fork arms over soft foam cushions that seal around your ears. We label each one under ANSI S3.19, and the number is a rated figure for the model, not what your own ears will measure.
Pick by where you work. S23409 mounts on slotted hard hats up to 1.35 inches and carries our highest label, NRR 28. S23407 is the dielectric green and black muff with non-conductive fork arms for electrical rooms, labeled 25. S23403 folds small for a toolbox at NRR 24, S23404 is the light black and orange muff at 27, and S23406 is the all-purpose black and red muff at 25.
The Safety Ear Muffs is on the Hearing protection shelf of the Sellstrom line.

Before you start
The NRR on the package is a lab figure. NIOSH found most workers get less than half of it, so fit decides: a plug rolled and inserted deep, a muff sealed all the way around.
