Sellstrom Carbon Felt Fire Blanket with Pouch

A spark that lands in a rag bin leaves you very little time, and a blanket folded away in a cabinet eats most of it. This one is carbon felt, 5 by 6 feet, and it handles brief exposure up to 1000°F. The felt is light, resists chemicals, and stands up to sparks and spatter. We make it in the United States.

It comes in a red vinyl pouch with carry handles, so you can hang it near the welding cell or the back door where everyone on the crew can see it. Between uses the pouch keeps sun, moisture, dust, salt air and chemicals off the felt. On ordinary days the same blanket works as a cover over a finished part or a machine sitting next to your cutting, catching spatter before it marks the surface. When it gets grimy, you can put it through a washing machine.
