DP4 shield with a spring flip up IR visor

Brazing calls for a dark lens while the flame is lit and a clear one for everything between. This DP4 gives you both on one head: a clear, anti-fog polycarbonate window in front of your face, and a spring mounted IR visor that flips down over it. We ship it assembled on ratchet headgear with a twist knob.

Pick the visor by how bright your flame runs: Shade 5 IR is the lightest, Shade 6 IR and Shade 6 Cobalt sit in the middle, and Shade 8 IR is the darkest. All four are for brazing, gas welding and oxygen cutting, never electric arc welding. The Shade 5 and Shade 6 IR versions also come with a chin guard, and you wear safety glasses under all of them.

  • Flip up visor

A spring mounted shade visor flips down for the flame and up again for a clear view of the work.
  • Anti-fog clear window

The polycarbonate window under the visor carries an anti-fog coating that helps keep your view clear.
  • Assembled on headgear

The shield arrives on ratchet headgear with a twist knob, so you peel the film and wear it.

Before you start

IR tinted windows, visors and lenses are for torch work: brazing, gas welding and oxygen cutting. They are not a filter for an electric arc, where the OSHA table starts at Shade 7.
