Ratchet suspension that brings a DP4 shield back

Headgear wears out long before the shield does. The knob starts to slip, the band will not hold its size, and the shield creeps down your forehead every time you lean over the grinder. This ratchet suspension drops into our DP4 face shields as a direct replacement, and its positive lock holds the band at exactly the size you set.

Swap it as soon as the old ratchet stops holding. Take off the worn headgear, move your window across to the new one, then turn the knob until the band sits snug and the shield hangs clear of your nose. You keep the shield and window you already own, and your safety glasses stay underneath where they belong, because a face shield goes over them and never replaces them.

Before you start

A face shield goes over safety glasses or goggles, never instead of them. OSHA's guide says a shield alone does not stop an impact, and a pitted or scratched window is the cue to replace it.
