Chin guard face shield in three builds

A grinding wheel or a cutoff disc sends debris up under the chin as often as at the eyes. Our 380 Series shield adds a polycarbonate chin guard below the window and an oversized crown above it, so your face, neck, ears and the front of your head all sit behind the same shield. The window curves with your face, and detents hold it up or down. We sell every part separately, so a scratched window is not a new shield.

You choose among three builds. The clear uncoated window on ratchet headgear is the grinding and cutting shield. The Shade 5 window on ratchet headgear, part S38150, is for brazing and torch cutting, never arc welding. Part S38210 puts the clear window on a slotted hard hat adapter. Wear glasses underneath, and peel the film from both sides first.

  • Chin guard included

A polycarbonate chin guard and oversized crown extend cover to the neck, the ears and the top of the head.
  • Window locks in place

Detents hold the window in the up or down position, so it stays where you set it.
  • Parts sold separately

Windows, crowns and headgear are available on their own, so you replace the worn part only.

Before you start

IR tinted windows, visors and lenses are for torch work: brazing, gas welding and oxygen cutting. They are not a filter for an electric arc, where the OSHA table starts at Shade 7.
