Acetate windows for the 380 face shield crown

Splash from a degreaser or a mixing pail lands on the window first, and acetate resists that spatter and the scratches from wiping it off. We cut this window for our 380 Series face shields, 19.5 inches wide, 6.5 inches tall and 0.040 inch thick, so your crown takes it without trimming. Fitted to a 380 shield, it is marked to ANSI Z87+ and CSA Z94.3.

Pick the tint for the work in front of you. Clear suits chemical handling and the bench grinder, and the Anti-fog version adds a coating that helps when you leave a cold dock for a warm shop. Dark Green cuts glare. Shade 5 IR is for torch work such as brazing, gas welding and oxygen cutting, never for electric arc welding. Keep your safety glasses on under any of them.

Before you start

IR tinted windows, visors and lenses are for torch work: brazing, gas welding and oxygen cutting. They are not a filter for an electric arc, where the OSHA table starts at Shade 7.
