Clear shield with chin guard for shop work
Woodworking, grinding and machine work throw chips at whatever is in front of them. You get a clear, uncoated polycarbonate window here, set between an oversized crown and a chin guard, so the shield covers your face, neck, ears and forehead in one piece. The Advantage Series ships ready to wear: crown, window and ratchet headgear, with a twist knob for fit and a sweatband you can wash.
Before the first use you peel the protective film from both sides of the window and mount it to the crown. Small detents lock it up when you are reading a drawing and down when the wheel is spinning. You wear safety glasses or goggles under it, because a shield is the outer layer. We mark it to ANSI Z87+ and CSA Z94.3.

Before you start
A face shield goes over safety glasses or goggles, never instead of them. OSHA's guide says a shield alone does not stop an impact, and a pitted or scratched window is the cue to replace it.
