Clear replacement window for Fiber-Metal 4199 shields

If your crew wears Fiber-Metal 4199 face shields, you do not have to retire the headgear when the window gets scratched or splashed. We cut this clear polycarbonate window to fit that frame. It measures 19 inches wide by 9.75 inches high and 0.040 inch thick, and it curves with the shape of your face so splashes, particles and chips from a grinder meet the window before your cheeks.

It comes uncoated, which makes it a plain choice for chemical mixing, wash bays and general shop work where you clean or swap windows often. Wear safety glasses or goggles underneath, since a shield is the outer layer. The window is marked to ANSI Z87+ and CSA Z94.3, and part S37608 is the number to keep on your reorder sheet.

Before you start

A face shield goes over safety glasses or goggles, never instead of them. OSHA's guide says a shield alone does not stop an impact, and a pitted or scratched window is the cue to replace it.
