Slot mounted face shield for your hard hat

Where the hard hat never comes off, a face shield has to ride on it. This one clips into the slots of most slotted hard hats with the universal adapters in the box, so your face, chin and eyes sit behind a curved polycarbonate window while the hat stays on your head. The window blocks 99% of UV and carries an anti-fog coating that helps in humid plants.

Pick Clear for grinding, chipping and chemical splash. The Shade 5 version adds a spring mounted Shade 5 IR flip front for oxy-acetylene cutting and brazing, which you lift between cuts and drop for the flame. It is not an arc welding filter. Your hard hat is not included, and your safety glasses stay on underneath. This shield is marked ANSI Z87+ and CSA Z94.3.

Before you start

IR tinted windows, visors and lenses are for torch work: brazing, gas welding and oxygen cutting. They are not a filter for an electric arc, where the OSHA table starts at Shade 7.
