Lift front hood built for tight spaces

Inside a hull or a tank there is no room to swing a full size helmet. We first designed this hood for shipbuilding, submarine work included, and it has since gone into all sorts of confined spaces. A spring loaded lift front with a positive lock takes a 2 by 4.25 inch plate, so you can raise the filter to inspect a joint and lock it down again without bumping a bulkhead.

Our Sel-Snap system makes loading the filter, cover and protective plates simple, which you will appreciate when you change plates in a cramped spot. Super Kool silver coating on the shell reflects heat and sheds spatter. The quick release ratchet headgear comes with a sweatband, and it is marked to ANSI Z87.1 and CSA Z94.3.

Before you start

Pick the shade from your process and current with the OSHA table, start darker and go lighter until you see the weld zone, and replace cover plates once spatter clouds the view.
