Add a lift front to the helmet you own
Turn a fixed front hood into a lift front without buying a new shell. This adapter measures 6 by 3.3 by 2.2 inches and mounts in the filter opening of helmets from us and from several other makers, including Fiber Metal, Jackson Safety and Hobart. It comes with a passive filter plate already, and it also takes a drop in auto darkening filter of 2 by 4.25 inches if you want to upgrade later.
Everything you need for assembly is in the box: two screws, a polycarbonate cover plate, a filter gasket and the back spring. Two small finger handles let you raise the front with a gloved hand to chip, brush and inspect the weld through the clear plate. An auto darkening filter is sold separately.

Before you start
Pick the shade from your process and current with the OSHA table, start darker and go lighter until you see the weld zone, and replace cover plates once spatter clouds the view.
