Fixed front nylon helmet with an extended crown

Overhead welding sends spatter up and then down onto the top of your head. This fixed front helmet is molded from tough nylon thermoplastic, coated red, and its crown reaches farther back than a short shell, so more of your head sits under cover when you weld above you. We make it with a Sel-Snap front that holds a 4.5 by 5.25 inch filter plate.

Because the front is fixed, you lift the whole helmet to look at the work, so it suits longer runs where you stay behind the lens. Changing plates is quick: you snap the front open, swap the filter and cover lens, and close it again. Pick the filter shade for your process and amperage. The helmet is marked to CSA Z94.3.

Before you start

Pick the shade from your process and current with the OSHA table, start darker and go lighter until you see the weld zone, and replace cover plates once spatter clouds the view.
