Silver Super Tuff shell with a lift front

Lift the front, chip the slag, drop it, weld again. That rhythm is what this helmet is built around. Our Sel-Snap retainer holds a 4-1/4 by 2 inch plate in a front frame that raises on its own, so you can inspect your work while the silver nylon shell stays between your face and the spatter. It is marked to ANSI Z87.1.

We mold the shell from Super Tuff nylon, lighter than fiberglass, and run it down over your chin and the sides of your head to keep infrared heat and spatter off. Set the ratchet headgear to the size of your head and to the tension you like, and the helmet sits the same way every time you nod it down. If the plate in the front gets pitted, you snap in a new one and carry on. We make it in a US facility.

Before you start

Pick the shade from your process and current with the OSHA table, start darker and go lighter until you see the weld zone, and replace cover plates once spatter clouds the view.
