Sellstrom Super Tuff Lift Front Welding Helmet, Black

Fiberglass shells feel heavy by the third hour, so we mold this one from Super Tuff nylon, which is lighter and shrugs off knocks on a shop floor. The shell runs low enough to cover your chin and the sides of your head against spatter and infrared heat. A ratchet headgear lets you set the fit and the tension once and leave it there. We build it in a US facility, and it is marked to ANSI Z87.1.

Up front sits our Sel-Snap retainer for a 4-1/4 by 2 inch plate. Lift it when you need to chip slag or look over a bead, and the shell stays down over your face while you work. Drop it again before you strike the next arc. A pitted plate snaps out of the same retainer, so you replace the plate and keep the helmet.
