The parts of a welding window you replace most

The filter plate sets your shade, and the clear cover plates on each side keep spatter off it. Covers pit first, so they are the part to buy by the box. Our filter plates come in polycarbonate and gold coated versions with the shade printed on them, and the CR-39 cover plates come in the two common window sizes, 2 x 4-1/4 in and 4-1/2 x 5-1/4 in.

A magnifier plate sits behind the filter and helps you read the puddle up close. It adds no shade. For our auto-darkening helmets, the replacement filter and cover plates are made for one model each, so check the model on your helmet before you order.
