Order the window by the crown you already wear

A window is made for a hole pattern, and the hole pattern belongs to a series. A DP4 window fits a DP4 crown, a 380 window a 380 crown, a 390 window the 390 crown, and the 301 window follows the universal pattern that many shields share. The flip front visors are for the DP4 crowns with a hinge, where a tinted visor lifts away from a clear window behind it.

Clear windows are for grinding, chipping and splash. The anti-fog ones help where your breath or the heat of the job clouds the view. Shade 3, 5, 6 and 8 IR windows and visors are for torch work and glare: gas welding, brazing and oxygen cutting, never an electric arc. The welding shade guide has the OSHA table.

Questions

Replacement windows: what people ask

How do you know which Sellstrom window fits your crown?

Look at the series on your shield or the part number on the old window. DP4, 380, 390 and 301 windows each fit their own crown, and the 301 follows the universal hole pattern.

Should you choose an anti-fog Sellstrom window?

If your breath or the heat of the job clouds the view, yes. Anti-fog helps against fogging. Clean it with water or a lens cleaner rather than a dry rag.
